How to install the loader snow chain?

2020-07-30 View count:263 Size:
Step 1: Prepare the car. It is best to install and remove the chain in the driveway or some relatively safe place. Of course, when it is necessary to install or remove it on the way, it must be on a safe and flat road by the side of the road. No matter where you are, make sure to leave yourself at least 10 feet of space in front of and behind the car, so you can have enough space to move the chain. At the same time, before touching any place near the tire, make sure that the parking brake has been activated to avoid accidents. It is a good idea to use wooden blocks to support the tires as an additional protective measure. Finally clean the excess snow from the tires.

Step 2: Start to install the chain. First of all, confirm whether the car is driven by the front or rear wheels, because the chain must hook on the set of tires that plays the main role. When you know which set of tires you need to apply the chain to, try to remove the snow around the tires as much as possible to create a flat surface. Spread the chains under the car, and place the first gear of each chain connected to the ground against the tire. Make sure that the particle-laden side of the chain faces the ground. This is the part of the chain that exerts the greatest traction.

Step 3: Make the chain bite (or detach). If it is a rear-wheel drive car, bite the chain backwards. If it is the front wheel, push forward. Check to make sure that each tire is secured to the chain, and a strand of gear is overlapped on each side. Then get in the car, start the engine, and slowly and carefully bring the chain forward or backward about 2 feet.

Step 4: Fix the chain. Once the tire is placed on the chain at a right angle, pull off the port that overlaps the top of the tire. Each end must be a device that completely fits the entire chain gear. First leave yourself 1 to 2 inches of room, and then tighten the device through the two opposite sides of the chain link.

Step 5: Protect the chain. Each rubber ring of the chain has 4 metal hooks evenly distributed around it. Each metal hook on the side of the tire's hubcap is cross-fixed in a cross-shaped manner. This ensures that the chain will not slip off.

Step 6: Start-up. Now the chain should be installed safely and can provide traction on snowy roads. However, do not think that the chain can guarantee fast driving in the harsh driving environment. Start slowly, pay attention to the sound of the car, it may be a reminder that the chain is loose or the tire is not installed properly (question the chain problem). No matter how safe their use is, it is unwise to drive tires with chains at 40 miles per hour.

Step 7: Remove the chain. Bad weather will not last forever, so when it doesn’t snow anymore, you should remove the chain from the car. Under any circumstances, do not drive on a snow-free road with a chain, it will seriously damage the tires. Removing the chain is much simpler than installing it. Just do the reverse procedure, remove the chains, and store them in a dry place for the next winter.
